Top 10 Reasons Why Wolverine Is The Best Superhero

I dare you to name an Xmen more popular than Wolverine. Now some of you extra cheeky people will give me lists. But the point is when it comes down to the superhero that so many people love and almost everyone knows, Wolverine is your guy. Why is he so popular? We are going to take a look. So let's take a look at the top 10 Reasons Why Wolverine Is The Best Superhero.

 10. HE HAS A FUN BACKSTORY

What always makes a character is his past; when you establish a solid and interesting backstory, it's very easy to build on. James Howlett as Wolverine has him being born to a rich farm owning couple, while he is actually an illegitimate child of the groundskeeper. What follows is real daddy gets the boot and comes back and murders false daddy, while James turns around and kills real daddy, causing real mommy to commit suicide. That's gotta keep the stories coming for a while right?

 9. HE LIVED TO TELL THE TALE OF SAID BACKSTORY WITHOUT GOING TOO CRAZY

So the trauma of his parentage may have left him scarred, and admittedly maybe he isn't the sanest of superheroes. There is a lot of rage and anger going on. But he pulled through it okay. We can't really say he is an inspiration or strong character children should look up to, but his mental health has really taken a beating and yet here he is today. Maybe because he doesn't exactly have the option of offing himself anyway.

8. HIS MOVIE WAS ONE OF FOX'S REDEEMING SUPERHERO MOVIES

We all remember that 20th-century fox hasn't exactly had the best of taste with their superhero movies. Can anyone say Fantastic 4 without cringing? But Logan came around in 2017 and blew everyone away. It even became the first superhero film to win an academy award in a screenplay category. So a reason why Wolverine is so popular is that his movie was one of the best hero films out thereÑand it wasnÕt even part of the MCU.

7. HE IS A POLYGLOT

He is not the only superhero to speak a variety of language, but Wolverine earns extra points for the sheer amount of languages he can speak and understand. These languages include, other than English are Japanese, Spanish, Arabic, Lakota, Chinese, and even more. And those are just his fluent languages; don't even get me started on the ones he knows conversationally enough. Everyone loves a well-traveled and well-spoken man
.

6. HIS SENSE OF HUMOUR

For all the crap that life has dealt him, Wolverine still retains a sense of humor. A dark, adult sense of humor but a sense nonetheless! Some of it may seem pretty twisted and self-deprecating, but are not those the best type of jokes anyway? I wouldn't exactly say he was a comedy hero, but he does inject a few laughs into really heavy panels or scenes, and sometimes we need a little something to lighten the mood!

 5. HE IS OLD

There's no solid age, but we can place wolverine at somewhere around 200 years old and way past his prime, but like we said, death isn't really an option for him. Not when you can regenerate from a drop of blood. So why is being an old mutant a draw? Well, other than the languages he is picked up, he had a fair amount of time to educate himself and get experience. He was supposed to be a teen when he was introduced, but a teenage wolverine just wouldn't have the same dry wit and mature aura that we find ourselves drawn to with Logan.

 4. HE HAS GOT SOME NEAT FRIENDS

Sometimes it's not who you are, it's who you hang out with. Ok, you should be important enough on your own, but when you can mingle with the best, people tend to like you more too. Even if you're a self-proclaimed loner who kinda sucks at being alone. Some of the Wolverine's notable pals include Nightcrawler, Captain America, Spiderman, and even Deadpool. Although we can't call that a love-based friendship. Maybe a love-hate passion for friendship. You know the kinds.

3. HE IS CANADIAN

What can make you cooler, eh! Literally, it's so cold up here. Whether he is going through the time drive through to pick up a double-double or picking up the hockey stick, two activities he most certainly does not partake in, it's good to be a canuck. James was born in Alberta Canada and though he may have traveled around the world by now, you never get over how excited you feel to see that iconic maple leaf.

2. HUGH JACKMAN

Need I say more on this one? Even though he is technically too tall for the role, something that some diehards had to come to terms with, Jackman has fit the role so beautifully for all these years and it's going to be hard to let him go.But Jackman's portrayal was among one of the best superhero portrayals and his face is now synonymous with everyone's favorite cantankerous xman.

1. HE HAS GOT ONE OF THE MOST DISTINGUISHING TRADEMARKS

If you were to play a game where you match up an image and a superhero that corresponds with said image, I guarantee you 99.99% of people would match Wolverine with his famed adamantium claws. No fancy tech, no crazy powers, just straight up claws that even your grandma would recognize. Halloween costumes, children's toys, movies and tv show rely on these claws to make the moolah. It was one of the smartest branding ideas Marvel ever used.
